We're Just Getting Started...

Horses! A visit to our agricultural past would not be complete without a look at these majestic animals that did so much of the early work on the farm. Even after the coming of the tractor horses were still used for many chores such as pulling bundle and water wagons. At the Camp Creek Threshers you can see these wonderful animals performing tasks as they did in the past. Horses can be seen pulling wagons, working in the field and other tasks like powering grinders. |

Sawmill! At Camp Creek you can also see how trees get transformed into lumber. This sawmill is reminiscent of the many sawmills which used to operate locally across the country. Our sawmill is one of the larger sizes having two blades. One saw performs the bulk of the cutting and a slightly smaller saw above the main blade helps to handle the bigger logs. Sawmill demonstrations take place throughout the day and the mill is always a popular attraction. If you're a steam engine fan this is also a great place to be and hear the old engines work! |
